Tim Hemlin is a marathoner, has taught middle school English Language Arts for over 20 years and now puts his master’s degree in counseling to work as a high school counselor. His passion for the environment sparked him to write The Wastelanders, a dystopian-clifi published in both e-book and paperback by Reputation Books. He is represented by Kimberley Cameron of Kimberley Cameron & Associates Literary Agency.
In addition to The Wastelanders Series, he also published the Neil Marshall Mystery Series set in Houston, Texas. These include If Wishes Were Horses, A Whisper of Rage (nominated for a Shamus Award), People in Glass Houses, A Catered Christmas (the one he most enjoyed writing), and Dead Man’s Broth. He has also has various short works of fiction, most prominently published in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine.

Hi Tim.
I got an email from Valerie regarding swapping reviews. Pleased to. How do you want to proceed? Valerie mentioned you have a review from an English reader who doesn’t realise that American spelling is different to and in my view more straight forward than, English. I’ve also had some silly reviews done by vindictive readers. It’s easy to say, ‘Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me’ but in this case the unkind words can do considerable damage. It seems we are in the same place trying to built sales of our books.

Dear Mr. Hemlin,
If you would recall, you were previously an instructor of the English language at Dulles Middle School. You, my friend, were a real ride or die. You made me love learning, and I kind of don’t remember learning, but those socratic seminars, man… they really warmed my soul. I am no longer a bitter 15 1/2 year old. I want you to know that you broke my smol, fragile heart when you left and out of all the people to give your favorite student award, you gaVE IT TO RC! Also, why would you let Ms. Strange choose our substitute??? I was disappointed in the selection of our sub instructor. You should come to Dulles High School and teach us, because I doubt there is something better that you have to do. Thx, bye.
